Colossians 1:13-14 (ESV)
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
God the Father, after three days in the belly of the earth, called to His Son, Jesus, to rise from His death shroud and walk free from his grave. It was time for the world to see the greatness of our God. And Jesus walked the earth, speaking with Mary and all the witnesses of His resurrection, signaling that God has won the victory. For when even death could not hold Jesus down, the Son of God’s victory is assured.
His victory over death sin, and Satan is our victory, imparted to us not by works but by the faith alive in our hearts and lives. Jesus’ resurrection will be our resurrection one day. It is not just our collective hope as believers, is our certainty. Jesus delivers us from darkness into light; from hopelessness to joy and confidence. Our Lord is our victor and our great deliverer. In Him alone is our redemption.
